Get out your brushes for our inaurgural painting competition! Paint one or more Astromarines or Cosmonauts between now and February 29th and email it to connor@shearwood.games with the subject “PAINTING COMPETITION” to enter.
The winner (as chosen by me) will win a copy of The Art of NASA: The Illustrations that Sold the Missions, a lovely hardback coffee table book of the illustrations used to plan various historic NASA missions. Two runners up, one cosmonaut and one astromarine, will recieve custom Lunar Self Defence Force keyfobs engraved with their names.
Don’t have your own astromarine or cosmonauts? A sample STL is available for printing, or if you don’t have a resin 3D printer you can purchase a sample set from Shapeways for £5 plus shipping. Alternatively, if you’re in the UK and want to enter, email me at the submission address with the subject “Sampler”, your address and your favourite Apollo mission, and I’ll send out a free sample (whilst stocks last).

Fine print:
- All entries must be submitted as one or more clear photographs of at least one miniature from either the sample STL or the shapeways sample pack, painted by the submitter.
- Entries must be emailed as an attachment to connor@shearwood.games with the subject “PAINTING COMPETITION” before 23:59:59 on February 29th 2024. Late entries will not be admitted.
- Competition open to anyone over the age of 18, or anyone over the age of 13 with parental consent.
- Winners will be announced by February 14th.
- Prizes will be sent worldwide via Royal Mail, recipients outside the UK may be liable for import duty.
- One (1) copy of The Art of NASA: The Illustrations that Sold the Missions will be awarded to the winner as chosen by Shearwood Games.
- Two (2) personalised keyfobs will be awarded to two runners up as chosen by Shearwood Games.
- Entrants give Shearwood Games the rights to use their entry photographs in promotional materials.
